1. Flower Festival

This Festival, which honors spring and flowers, runs from the end of April to the end of May (27/04 to 21/05). The Flower Festival is distinguished by its distinctive tradition, and throughout this month, you may take in parades, traditional performances, concerts, and the creation of floral carpets. Don’t miss the Cortejo Alegórico da Flor show, though, which overtakes Funchal on the first Sunday afternoon as the festival gets underway! 2. Atlantic Festival

The Atlantic Festival, which runs the entire month of June and is one of the only tourist entertainment events, ushers in Madeira’s summertime by providing its visitors pyro musical performances, the Atlantic Roots Festival, and the Regional Arts Week. The International Fireworks Competition, whose trophy is awarded through public vote, hosts pyro musical performances every Saturday. You can take in the entertainment, gourmet establishments, and local goods in Funchal and Machico during the Summer Sunset.

3. Wine Festival

The Emigrant Festival, which promotes regional cuisine, kicks off this festival on August 21 in the parish of Calheta, Atouguia Parish. The original church of the Diocese of Funchal, which got a “relic” of Pope John Paul II, is also located in this town. Visit this one!
